Prevent surgery. Restore function.

A modern interventional pain practice is judged by what it can accomplish before a patient enters the operating room. That is the standard Dr. Cohen was trained to hold, and it is the standard he holds his practice to every day.

Three principles guide every decision.

Diagnosis first

A precise diagnosis — not a guess — is the beginning of every treatment plan. Imaging, history, and targeted diagnostic blocks come before any procedure.

Least-invasive by default

If a needle, a lead, or an ablation can achieve what a scalpel would — that is the correct answer. Recovery matters as much as the outcome.

Longitudinal care

Pain doesn't respect calendars. Dr. Cohen coordinates with your primary physicians and surgeons so care continues after the procedure.

A conservative approach, backed by advanced tools.

Conservative care and advanced technology are not opposites. The most conservative thing an interventional pain physician can do is use the smallest, most targeted intervention that has the strongest evidence for that specific patient.

For some, that means a single well-placed diagnostic block. For others, it means neuromodulation that changes daily life. Either way, the reasoning is the same: reduce the burden of pain without adding new problems.

Dr. Cohen also partners with the State of Florida on responsible prescribing — an obligation to the community that extends beyond the individual patient.
